HI, can anyone tell me how to share the USB drive on the VTI image. Under DM3.3 I was able to view the usb connected to the VU on a pc.

Hi, yeah with BH3.3 i was able to access the files on the stick on a pc. I found it extremely handy for updating the picon files.

I was able to go in through \\192.168.0.3\Configfiles\mnt\usb for usb and \\192.168.0.3\Configfiles\mnt\hdd to get to the harddrive of the VU.

But VTI is lacking those options as default.

I do a menu system softwaremanager update nearly every day and theres been no update, so I guess i'm uptodate.

I take it VTI2.1 isnt available via that option and will need to be flashed again from scratch. If I do that, I take it that all my addons that i've put on it, plus the fix for boot.py to copy the epgnew to epg.dat will be lost??????

You can modify the smb.conf an ad manually additional shares.

Okay, I found the smb.conf file. I've added

[Usb]
comment = Usb flash
path = /media/usb
wide links = yes
read only = no
public = yes
guest ok = yes


Is there a way to restart samba without restarting the box at all~???????

Ok, done that. Strangely, I can only see the usr directory. I cannot see picon or gte4-static.

Even through FTP, i cannot access the other two directories, although i can see them, only access is available to usr.

Help please?

OK, strange bug, when box rebooted, it didnt enable the usb stick. Had to remove and insert. Seems to be wokring now, strange!
