It's true it's quite used, eg. Kernel called Talon - forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1106075 on Samsung Galaxy I9000 device.
Unfortunately it seems to have some mem leaks inside and can't say whether it's related to Android or Kernel sources, but that author is fighting with it already quite long.
However I can't say if this would really have any benefits. I'm already running my VU+ with enabled swap on fast USB Flash (because of fighting with MKV/AVI freezes) and it's simply not helping.
