    • Decrease volume during advertisement - searching for plugin

      Hi,
I'm sure many of us has the same problems. On some channels volume goes up mainly during advertisement, which is really extremely annoying. I found that plug in called SILENZIO (enigma2-plugin-extensions-silenzio_0.1.0-r6_all.ipk) was solving that, system plugin, unfortunately last version is coming from 2008, so most probably it will not work on VTI 2.2 image.
Any idea, any tip for plugin that might solve this problem ?

      Thanks.

    • Maybe THIS Plugin fits your needs.

    • Thank you, unfortunately this is not I'm asking for. Plugin mentioned by you allows to define "volume level" for each channel. But for my purpose I would need something that lower the volume when it's automatically increased by the provider during advertisements.

    • Well, if such plugin doesn't exists, what is then plugin SILENZIO for ?

    • Silenzio allows you to set a maximum volume (so you kids don't turn up the volume too much), and it redefines the mute button to lower the volume to a predefined value instead of turning sound off.

As gutemine wrote, really detecting commercial breaks is way too CPU intensive and doesn't work reliably - search for gutemine's thread on IHAD for silenzio, or search for "noad"...

And you probably shouldn't try silenzio on OE1.6 images, as it overwrites some system files...
    • Aha, ok, thanks for the Silenzio. I know it doesn't belong on OE 1.6 as I already wrote above.

However, detecting commercial breaks is not necessarily - I'm speaking about something that will monitor output level and decrease is if necessary anytime, kind of "normalize". But if it's something that VU+ CPU can't handle...there is no other way.

    • Well, not really... it's trough TV connected to the externals speakers.
      Anyway, thanks for the tip.
